Specialists of the Icelandic firm Arctic Trucks, who have made a name for themselves in tuning SUVs and pickups, presented their new project – a modified version of the Toyota Hilux model. This modification received the prefix “AT35” in the name. Outside, the modified Japanese truck draws attention to itself with a seriously increased ground clearance. The clearance of the modification is declared at the level of 292 mm (+ 65). The workshop specialists managed to achieve this value by installing original springs and shock absorbers.
Plus, the special version received widened wheel arches and tenacious 35-inch wheels, which have a large contact patch and a pressure control function. Due to this, such a car can be operated in fragile eco-zones, which is especially important in Iceland.
It is known that the Toyota Hilux AT35 also received a locally reinforced frame and a new anti-roll bar. The tuners did not touch the power unit of the pickup, so the car is driven by a standard 2.8-liter turbodiesel with 201 hp, working in tandem with an automatic transmission. Arctic Trucks plans to modify the Hilux exclusively for individual orders. The cost of the modifications is 21,500 euros.
