The Brazilian Suzuki importer is launching a particularly elegant special model of the small off-roader. A strict limitation guarantees exclusivity.
In Germany, the Suzuki Jimny continues to be a rarity: after it disappeared from the market entirely because it didn’t meet the current EU emission standards, it’s been back for a few months – albeit only with commercial vehicle registration. In Brazil there are even two of them: the old model that Suzuki offered in this country between 1998 and 2018 is sold as the Jimny. But the new Jimny is also available in the largest country in South America; There it is nicknamed Sierra – and as a 4Sport special model it is now becoming an exclusive noble off-roader.
A Suzuki Jimny Sierra 4Sport always arrives with a black roof and luggage rack and 15-inch alloy wheels painted in the same colour. There are also blue accents on the tow hooks and on the hood. The black 4-Sport logos on the doors with a blue border pick up on both colors. Speaking of which: the basic colors offered for the special model in addition to white, black and gray are called “Silk Silver” and “Yellow Kinetic”.
Greater wading depth thanks to the snorkel
There are also subtle blue stripes on the most important technical change: the intake snorkel attached to the right A-pillar is intended to increase the wading depth to 60 centimetres. Tubular rock sliders protect the sills from damage in difficult terrain; Underride protection elements perform the same task at the front and rear. The off-road tires of the type Pirelli Scorpion MTR have the dimension 215/75 R15 all around. On the other hand, nothing changes in terms of the drive: the almost 1.5-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine delivers 108 hp and a maximum torque of 138 Newton meters and transmits its power to all four wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission.
Inside, the blue color returns: the seams on the seats and steering wheel feature the contrasting color, as do the surrounds of the outer air vents, the automatic selector lever and the 4Sport logos on the seats. The rubberized floor mats are certainly an advantage on excursions into the undergrowth. A JBL multimedia system with a seven-inch touchscreen serves as the infotainment interface. Android Auto, Apple Carplay and a WiFi module connect the car to the occupants’ smartphones and the Internet. A plaque in the area of the glove compartment indicates the special status of the edition model.
The equivalent of 34,400 euros expensive
If you want a Suzuki Jimny Sierra 4Sport, you not only have to contact the Brazilian importer, you also have to be quick: the special series is limited to just 100 copies. The price of the small off-roader is correspondingly lavish: 181,990 real, which currently corresponds to almost 34,400 euros.
The Brazilian Suzuki importer now also offers the current Jimny, which has the nickname Sierra there, in the 4Sport special series. This receives both optical and technical changes, is limited to only 100 copies and carries a self-confident price tag.
